Summer memories!

One of our students shared her memories and photos during the summer vacation. It is nice to spend such a good vacation!

I like going to museums to see a variety of exhibitions. As I had heard
about an exhibition of Japanese traditional sword in Okazaki, and I visited there during the summer vacation. In the early morning,
I hurried to Tokyo station and took Shinkansen. Then I transferred for another line at Toyohashi and took a bus to Okazaki City Museum.

       

This is a special exhibition about Taiga drama, “What Will You Do, Ieyasu?”, and I saw armors and gold fans used in Tokugawa Period.
The purpose of this trip is to see “Sozasamonji” and “Daihannya Nagamitsu”, which are swords in my favorite video game, “Token Ranbu”, and to learn about Tokugawa Ieyasu’s lifetime.

After the exhibition, I went to Okazaki Castle next to the mansion built as Ieyasu’s mansion for this drama. As I didn’t have enough time to see all, I visited only the main building of the castle. There was no elevator in the castle, so I had to go up the stairs. In each floor, there were different exhibitions, such as a model of the castle and Japanese swords. From the top of the castle, I could clearly see the whole city. I bought a commemorative coin and red ink stamp of the castle.

       

   

Before coming back to Tokyo, I had dinner in Okazaki.
Although I was very busy, it was a good one-day trip.
