It is a good experience for international students to visit different cities in Japan.
We’ll share a post by the student who went to Okinawa to see table tennis matches. He also took photos with some professional players whom he admires!

On the afternoon of August 30th, I took a flight to Naha, Okinawa.
I thought Okinawa was just a small island. But as the plane came close to Naha, I realized that it was actually a large city.
Before coming to Okinawa, I was worried about the Okinawan dialect, but people in Okinawa are very kind and all speak standard Japanese. To my surprise, I found a big water tank near the entrance of Naha airport. It was a unique experience to see many tropical fish, which I had never seen before.
I came to Okinawa to see Japan Table Tennis League. The competition took place there for 2 consecutive days, and I saw lots of professional table tennis players such as Tomokazu Harimoto, Yuya Oshima, Maharu Yoshimura, Hiroto Shinozuka and LIN YUNJU. After the matches, I asked for their autograph and took photos with them.
I also visited “Kokusai Shopping Street” in Naha. I enjoyed having famous Okinawan cuisine such as goat dishes and Rafute. The restaurant held a small concert by two singers who sing Okinawan traditional songs, which impressed me a lot.
