This time one of YIEA’s teachers from China, shares with you how she improved her Japanese skills!
How do you study Japanese?
I will be very glad if my learning strategy of Japanese is helpful in your language learning.
Many of our students say they want to improve their “conversation skills”.
What do you think is the best way to improve oral skills?
-The answer is very simple, to “speak” as much as possible.
No matter how many new words or units of grammar you learn in your textbook, you cannot improve oral skills unless you try to use them in conversation.
Don’t hesitate to speak Japanese just because you are afraid of making mistakes on pronunciation, choice of words.
It is especially important to practice Japanese vowel sounds,あいうえお. I think a voice recorder is an excellent tool to improve your pronunciation. When you listen to your pronunciation recorded, pay careful attention to what is different from correct pronunciation. Keep practicing in such a way and you will gain confidence in conversation.
Speak Japanese as much as possible if you have a chance.
