▪ When did you start preparing for the exams?

I started it as soon as I came to Japan in April 2019.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

It was especially challenging for me to prepare for the exam while trying to get used to the new environment in Japan.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

I should have taken TOEFL test earlier.

Graduate schools also require a certificate of TOEFL test as well as universities do.

If I had taken the test in China beforehand, I could have spared more time to study Japanese and other subjects.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

Practice speaking Japanese as much as you can.

Many of international students seem to have enough skills in listening and reading, but it is not easy to speak Japanese fluently, especially in interviews.

The more you practice Japanese, the better you speak the language.

As you came all the way to Japan from your country, speak Japanese as much as possible in your daily life and at YIEA! Don’t be afraid of making mistakes when you study Japanese at school!

So, feel free to talk to your teacher in Japanese during class and after school.

▪ When did you start preparing for the exams?

I checked what kind of subjects would be included one year before the exams.

First, I took TOEIC test and got my score to apply for the exams. Then since 6 months before, I had been reviewing the exam subjects and also in contact with my professor to discuss my research proposal.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

I faced lots of tough situations during my study, especially it was hard for me to control my mind well under pressure. Before passing the exams, I had actually failed some other exams and lost all my confidence. But I did not give up studying until the end.

Although my efforts finally bore fruit, it was really challenging to continue studying without knowing the result.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

It cannot be too early to prepare for exams. It is important to read application guidelines carefully and understand the roadmap to enrollment and what kind of subjects are included in the exams. If your language proficiency test score in Japanese or English is required, prepare an original certificate as soon as possible.

▪ What is the most challenging situation you have faced?

It is highly recommended that international students should set own goals and create a study schedule. Communicate with your friends and teachers well, and you can get more valuable information. While studying you may encounter lots of tough situations but believe in yourself and never give up!
