Mushinone

Culture & Seasons

“Mushinone” means insects chirping.

Due to the fact that there are some descriptions of autumn insects in classical works of Japanese literature such as “The Pillow Book”, “The Tale of Genji”, We can see that we have had a custom of enjoying the sound of insects in Japan since a long time ago.

We can hear bell-ring crickets chirping in the bushes after sunset.

It is fun to enjoy “mushinone” while walking in the park.
