This new blog post is by our Chinese student who went to see two fireworks festivals this summer. This time he looks back on Katsushika Fireworks Festival.

I often see scenes of main characters visit fireworks festival together in Anime and Manga. It has already been 1 month since I came to Japan, and on the evening of 7/23, I finally got a chance to see fireworks in Japan.
My friends and I were supposed to come together at the station at 6, but the meeting spot is not very accessible for some of them, and what is worse, the others did not even decide what time to leave home. So, we had no choice but to head for the fireworks venue separately. The venue was so crowded when I got there. Because I had no reception with my cellphone, I could not contact some of my friends. It is unfortunate that we could not see the fireworks with them.
There were so many people (at least more than 100,000) on both sides of the river. We found a comfortable spot near paid seats area. Lots of different groups came in sight: a group enjoying drinking while having Yakitori, photographers, old couples, and young couples in Yukata having candy apples. All of them were looking forward to seeing the fireworks.
After the introduction of fireworks sponsors, the festival finally started. The host explained of the fireworks and each theme. Some of the fireworks were let off along with the music. Although the buildings nearby prevented us from seeing some small fireworks clearly, the festival overall was very fun.
After the festival, we walked to the station, but we could not get into the train because there were too many people. There was a long line at the bus stop, too. So, we decided to spend 50 minutes to walk home without using public transportations.
I enjoyed having Chinese cuisine with my Nepalese classmate and taught him how to use chopsticks. He likes Chinese spicy chicken.
