We can see not only cherry blossoms but also many other beautiful flowers in Japan.
I visited Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi the other day. The Park was selected as the “World’s Dream Travel Destination” by American news channel CNN. It is also known as one of the locations for popular Japanese Manga series, Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
Getting off at Ashikaga Flower Park station on JR Ryomo Line, the stairs on which wisteria flowers are painted came into sight. Before Entering the park, I had already smelled the fragrance of the flowers. There is a variety of flowers fully bloomed outside the park, such as toad lilies, tulips, and peonies.
Butterfly-shaped wisteria flowers are hanging down from the pergolas, and the “wisteria tunnel” is, as it were, a “wonderland”. The flowers are full of vitality, and they symbolize deep love.
It is recommended to visit the park in the afternoon and see the flowers after 5 o’clock as they are beautifully lit up. Unfortunately, this time I had to go back home before the illumination.
Besides, a souvenir shop in the park sells cute purple(wisteria-colored) bear dolls giving off a faint smell of wisteria at a reasonable price.
